Dear East Boston Neighbors,
I am hopeful and excited as I begin my first term as president of the East Boston Chamber of Commerce. Our Board of Directors is committed to guiding our member businesses and non-profits through existing economic challenges. We are committed to developing new programs and initiatives, providing valuable workshops and seminars, and directing our members to the resources they need, especially those related to marketing and financing.
Hoping to follow in the footsteps of my predecessor, I aim to continue re-branding the East Boston Chamber and the neighborhood of East Boston – one of the City’s best! We will continue to distinguish Eastie from other City of Boston neighborhoods, promoting to visitors and neighbors our extensive variety of offerings: our unparalleled restaurants, cafes, and lounges; our unique service providers and retail shops; our fine art and entertainment options; our always accommodating hotels; our parks, playgrounds, harbor and skyline views; our friendly and diverse population; and much more.
The Chamber will continue its outreach to the diverse populations that exist within our business community. We will work to prove ourselves as an all-encompassing, member-representative organization, connecting with young professionals, women professionals, creative entrepreneurs and seasoned companies, culturally diverse small business owners, and all others. On behalf of this assemblage that makes up our one-of-a-kind business community, the Chamber will battle for opportunities that promise economic development and recovery.
I would like to take this opportunity to encourage and remind everyone – business owners and residents alike – to shop locally! It is vital that we try whenever possible to keep our money circulating within our own community. Use our online member business directory. Also, please make use of other tools available on this website, including community calendar, job forum, commercial real estate and office forum, and more. Finally, if you’re not already, consider becoming a member of the East Boston Chamber of Commerce – helping local businesses to do business.
On behalf of the Officers, Directors, and Membership of the East Boston Chamber of Commerce, I wish you a safe, healthy and prosperous 2010.
Sincerely,
Neffo Cappuccio,
President
