FROM THE PRESIDENT

Dear East Boston Neighbors,

   I am fortunate and excited as I begin my presidency with the East Boston Chamber of Commerce. Over the last twelve months, under the leadership of an amazing Board of Directors, our organization has grown leaps and bounds – and you will find that this trend will continue. This Chamber has been operating with an abundance of energy and has gained a great deal of renewed respect and influence within the community – with the City of Boston and its offices, our elected officials, our business owners and residents. We have spearheaded the first, necessary steps in a predictably long though realistic process of uniting the entire neighborhood, which represents various cultural backgrounds. The Chamber aims to continue its outreach to all business owners in our community, knowing that only together will this Chamber rise to its greatest potential, and will the neighborhood follow.

   The East Boston Chamber has achieved a great deal, though much can and must be attributed to many of our local business owners. These individuals should be commended for the time, energy, and financial resources they have contributed for the enhancement of the Chamber, their business community, and the overall fabric of and quality of life in East Boston. The Chamber is funded and led solely by its local business men and women, and we thank them for their staunch commitment to this community, as we all benefit as a result.

   As Chamber President, I affirm the pledge of my predecessors, to work with all groups and individuals sharing our goals for a safe, clean, unified, and vibrant East Boston. I look forward to working with my Board of Directors, to create catalysts for prosperity and opportunity here in our community.

   On behalf of the Officers, Directors, and Membership of the East Boston Chamber of Commerce, I wish you a safe, healthy and successful 2008.
